Iron Fist star Finn Jones is disappointed Danny Rand's story is left "incomplete" after cancellation

Marvel’s Iron Fist was never anyone’s favourite comic book show, but it was still a shock when Netflix cancelled the series after two seasons, especially on the back of a cliffhanger ending that had huge potential.

As it stands, the abrupt cancellation left many characters’ stories unfinished, and that’s something that the show’s star Finn Jones has now spoken out about.

Speaking at Rhode Island Comic Con this weekend, Finn shared his feelings about Danny Rand’s journey being left hanging at the end of season two, which saw him convince Colleen Wing (Jessica Henwick) to take over and become the Iron Fist through an ancient ritual while Danny left New York to go and find himself (and the Fist).

“It’s just a shame that the show gets cancelled right when Danny reaches his peak,” Finn said, according to actress and Geek Nation co-founder Claire Kramer. “It feels like the journey is incomplete.”

Still, the end of Iron Fist doesn’t have to mean the end of Iron Fist as Danny Rand could pop up elsewhere in Netflix’s Marvel universe (just not on Luke Cage, which also recently met Netflix’s axe).

For one, fans have been wondering whether Marvel might combine the two casts to make a Heroes For Hire show, while others have also been pleading for a Daughters of the Dragon spin-off, which would feature Luke Cage‘s Misty Knight (Simone Missick) and Iron Fist‘s Colleen Wing.

Meanwhile, Marvel’s Daredevil recently premiered its third season on the streaming giant and while no announcements have been made, its reported viewing figures could spell trouble for the series.

Still, before we go marking the end of the current Marvel Netflix era, there’s always the upcoming third season of Jessica Jones and a follow up to the debut of Daredevil spin-off The Punisher to look forward to.
