Injured war veteran to join Corrie as part of Jack Webster’s recovery storyline

A war veteran who lost his leg in Afghantistan is set to appear on Coronation Street as part of Jack Webster’s recovery storyline.

Former Marine Cassidy Little, 36, will be joining the ITV soap later this month as a Paralympic champion who will act as Jack’s mentor.

Jack, played by 12-year-old Kyran Bowes, had his leg removed after suffering from sepsis .

Cassidy lost his leg below the knee in 2011 during a tour of Afghanistan. He later turned to acting in a bid to come to terms with his injuries.

A source told The Sun : "It’s a real honour to have Cassidy joining the cast.

"He’s an inspiration and has really helped everyone with the research for the forthcoming story involving Jack and his family."

Cassidy also took part in the People’s Strictly for Comic Relief and was crowned the winner with pro partner Natalie Lowe.

He said at the time: Like rehabilitation, the arts are always moving forward.
