Imogen Thomas gives tip to Big Brother newbies after making £10million off show

Former Big Brother housemate Imogen Thomas has shared one piece of advice for new housemates entering the house.

Thomas, 40, starred on the 2006 series of the show, then being broadcast on Channel 4. She formed part of the legendary line-up alongside Nikki Grahame and eventual winner Pete Bennett.

Then aged just 23, Imogen got into trouble while in the house for consistently speaking Welsh with fellow housemate Glyn Wise. As a result of their breaking the rules, Big Brother would only speak in Welsh for days, leaving English-speaking contestants bewildered.

Imogen, who worked as a waitress when she went into the house, just missed out on the final after being evicted with just a week to go. But after leaving the show, Thomas was flooded with modelling opportunities.

Since then, she has become a multi-millionaire – going on to earn a cool £10million thanks to capitalising on her popularity. Her funds come from sitting on a massive property empire that keeps her in the money.

Speaking to Metro, mum-of-two Imogen said she had the "best time of my life" on the show and would be happy to do it again. She went on to reveal her secret to making her money after she was booted off the programme.

"What you get offered, take – because beggars can't be choosers at the end of the day," she said. "When I was on the show, there were so many magazines that I could be modelling for and I was for like 10 years straight."

Thomas admitted that many of the lads' mags she modelled for have since disappeared which was "where the main money was". She also warned against using social media as a means for making cash, as "brands are a little bit more cautious now", not paying out what they would usually.

"So for me, I would just say take whatever you can get and make good of the situation, because it does dry out," she finished. She echoed the sentiment when asked what she would tell her 23-year-old self when she left the seventh series of the legendary reality TV show.

Imogen also added that she regretted turning down an opportunity for a column in a Sunday newspaper. She lamented her decision, saying: "I just wasn't in the mood and now I just think, 'Why did I say no to that?'"

Since her time on the show, the Welsh bombshell was offered a small part on another Channel 4 show – Shameless. She described the opportunity given to her as "surprising and surreal".

Big Brother now airs nightly on ITV2 and ITVX at 9pm
