I’m a Celebrity…Get Me Out of Here! bosses have strongly denied claims from some viewers that one part of the live trial which featured on Sunday night’s episode (November 25) wasn’t quite what it seemed.
The X Factor-themed live trial saw The Chase star Anne Hegerty break an I’m a Celeb record by downing a drink made of blended fish eyes in a mere 12 seconds.

Despite being – at first glance – quite a big accomplishment, it seems some I’m a Celeb viewers weren’t that impressed.
A number of social media users were quick to cry “fix” and suggest that the drink Anne demolished in a mere 12 seconds was actually a glass of cola because, well, it was black.
(Although you’d hardly expect blended fish eyes to looks all that colourful, would you?)
One viewer wrote: “I can’t be the only one that thought Anne’s trial was a glass of coke with some herbs in it?”
“Looks a lot like coke to me,” added another.
However, in a statement to Digital Spy, an ITV spokesperson said: “This is categorically not true.”
The show made the foul concoction by blending fish eyes and then straining the remnants. So anyone wanting to try this at home will get the same thing. Not that we’d recommend it.
The claims come after controversy and confusion surrounding some supposedly vegan campmates eating meat.
