I’m A Celeb campsite exposed as ‘a film set’ as first contestant is ‘confirmed

I'm A Celebrity…Get Me Out of Here! is due to return to our screens later this month, though the line-up is still under wraps.

Speaking on Lineker and Baker: Behind Closed Doors podcast with Gary Lineker today, former contestant Danny Baker spilled the beans on about the experience.

The 62-year-old appeared on the sixteenth series of I'm A Celeb back in 2016, along with stars Scarlett Moffatt and Joel Dommett.

After a gentle nudge from Gary, Danny hinted that footballer Ian Wright was "confirmed" to appear on the 2019 season.

Walkers Crisp's legend Gary asked: "[He] might possibly, can't reveal it, absolutely 100% sure he might be going into the Jungle, a lot of rumours which I've kind of alluded to during the show. If Wrighty is going into the jungle, any advice for him?"

Danny remarked: "If he went in there if anyone is listing to me know who is going into the jungle this year, you are going to have the time of your life."

The Londoner then opened up about his own time on the show, as he was booted out in week one of the series.

Revealing some behind-the-scenes secrets, the former BBC presenter admitted the campsite was surprisingly hygienic.

With barely any insects and heaps of cameramen around, the jungle apparently felt more like a film set to the contestants.

He said: "[Should] Ian [be] listening to this, you've got to realise it's a big film set, it's real up to a point,"

"When you're in the jungle you can't…you don't see anyone,"

"Clearly I noticed about two nights in, I looked at the lamps that light it [the camp] until one in the morning until they go out, not a single insect was near them. Nothing was flying at them, which tells me that area had been treated and cleaned. "
