How to apply for Bargain Hunt 2018 – application process and form, criteria and deadline

Ok, it's unlikely you'll make much (or any) money but you will get to meet the show's resident experts, have a good day out and appear on the telly. Here's how to apply to get involved…

How do I apply for Bargain Hunt?

Casting bosses at Bargain Hunt are always on the lookout for people with big personalities who want the chance of discovering a treasure.

If you are up for some fun, reckon you've got a good eye for a bargain and would quite like to be on TV, then chances are they want to hear from you.

Applications are currently open and all you need to do is spend a couple of minutes filling out an application form to be in with a chance.

The producers don't get the time to reply to every application that comes in so if you're unsuccessful, you probably won't hear from them.

If they like the look for your application they'll give you a call for an informal phone interview, which could be as much as a year after sending in the form.

Then before having you on the show, they'll meet you face to face to confirm they are happy and match you up with another pair for the programme.

What's the criteria for Bargain Hunt contestants?

Applicants must be eighteen years of age or over and a permanent legal resident in the UK, Isle of Man or the Channel Islands.

You also can't work at the BBC nor have recently worked at the BBC when you apply.

Sounds easy enough.

What’s on the Bargain Hunt application form?

Aside from all your basic details, the show's producers have a number of questions about you and your interest in antiques.

First and foremost the show bosses want to see your personality, so make sure that shines through in your answers.

The form encourages you to share interesting facts about yourself, your job, your hobbies and interests and your dreams for the future.

They ask you if you've been on TV before and what tactics you would use if you went on the show.

They also want to know about any hilarious or embarrassing things that have happened to you and some interesting and uncommon facts about yourself.

Good luck!
