House of Games fans shocked by 'breathtaking ignorance' in geography round

BILLERICAY comedian Richard Osman was back for another House of Games celebrity instalment last night.

But viewers were quickly frustrated by the show's geography round as contestants blurted wrong answers out.

BBC Two has been treating TV fans to celebrity episodes of its programme House of Games.

Thursday's episode, once again, saw actors Stephen Bailey and Nick Moran, You Deserve this House host Amanda Lamb and Great British Bake Off finalist Crystelle Pereira take on a series of quiz rounds.

During the instalment, the four famous faces went toe to toe during a geography round.

Contestants were asked to name the British town Bram Stoker's Count Dracula arrives in after his journey from Transylvania.

While it was blatantly pointed out on the map in front of them, in the North East of the country, some mentioned Cornwall and Birmingham – which are nowhere near.

The correct answer was revealed to be Whitby and some viewers were left fuming.

The latter took to Twitter, farm from impressed by the stars' lack of geography knowledge and held no punches back.

"Breathtaking geographical ignorance on display", one viewer penned.

Another wrote: "They should also lose points for the utter geographic ignorance displayed in that round."

A third House of Games fan made a jab at TV presenter Amanda, most well-known for hosting Channel 4 lifestyle show A Place in the Sun from 2001 to 2006.

"Amanda does some programme where she visits different parts of Britain doesn't she?", first asked the viewer, prior to addind: "That's why she is being a bit less thick than the others on this round."

For five years, Amanda would travel across the UK as well as overseas in a bid to find the perfect property.

The show mostly focused on Southern Europe but also featured episodes in Florida and the Carribean.

This wouldn't be the first time instance viewers were annoyed with the game show this week.

Monday's instalment of the weekly competition particularly annoyed fans once the celebrity line-up was revealed.

As usual, viewers took their frustrations out on Twitter.

"Anyone else finding all of these people incredibly f***ing annoying?", one of them commented.

A second immediately agreed: "yes, constant noise between rounds and questions."

Another added: "Crystelle ruining my favourite show with her over the top shrieking, can't stand her so annoying."
