Hollyoaks' Steph Davis and boyfriend Owen Warner join cast at funeral of unknown character at church in Liverpool

The lovebirds were just two of the cast who descended upon a church in the city to shoot the sad scenes – though it's unknown who will die.

Owen, 19, and Steph, 26 – who recently moved in together – looked head over heels as they walked around and held hands between takes.

When they weren't wrapping their arms around one another the couple laughed and chatted incessantly.

It was clearly a chilly day on set as they kept warm in large padded jackets emblazoned with their soap name – though Steph – who plays Sinead O'Connor in the soap – appeared to borrow hers from Lisa Loveday (Rachel Adedeji).

Despite the emotional plot, the cast seemed upbeat when the cameras stopped rolling as Chelsee Healey was also seen larking around with Malique Thompson-Dwyer.

While it's unclear who will be in the coffin, viewers will watch James Nightingale become another of Breda McQueen's victims next week.

The lawyer – who is played by actor Gregory Finnegan in the Channel 4 soap – will be left fighting for his life on a bench in the village after his own dad Mac forces Breda to kill him.

He will hand over a vial of poison to her and demand she kills James or he will tell the police about her murder of Louis Loveday.

Later she gets the chance to slip it into James' coffee, leaving him lifeless on the bench.

His mum Marnie will desperately call for help as she finds him slumped and unconscious, while in a heartbreaking twist, James is listening to a message from boyfriend Harry as he slips out of consciousness.
Villiage serial killer Breda has already bump at least four victims so far with Carl Costello, Glenn Donovan, Russ Owen and Louis all falling at her touch.
