Hollyoaks' Sinead O'Connor's husband Laurie makes a violent entrance – and he's hiding a dark secret

The new deputy head of Hollyoaks High – who is played by actor Kyle Pryor in the Channel 4 soap – made his shock debut in tonight's episode when he violently dragged Sinead out of a car.

She was just finishing up a romp with Sami after he helped her take back her daughter Hannah from her husband.

"What am I doing?" he shouted as he gripped her wrist.

"You abducted a child and are sleeping with random blokes. You have really surpassed yourself this time."
And now Hollyoaks boss Bryan Kirkwood has exclusively told The Sun Online how Laurie's temper is only the tip of his dark side.

He said: "Kyle is another big new injection of drama and energy to the show and Laurie will be at first glance, appears like the man of Sinead's dreams.

"He's very respectable, he works hard for a living, he's been bringing up her daughter single-handedly while she ran away to ruin weddings, so it appears at first glance that he's the sensible one.

"But all is not what it seems in Hollyoaks and there is a very interesting and complex character there."

Earlier in the episode Sinead begged Sami to help her get Hannah to the village to meet her dad Ste Hay, and he drove her to the snatch.

It has yet to be revealed why Sinead was forced to snatch her daughter from Laurie, but it's set to be explosive year for her.

Laurie will also feed into the upcoming feud between Sinead and Sienna Blake when she lands a job with Laurie at the school.

Bryan added: "Sienna will have a job in the school, she wants to be a teacher but as a classroom assistant, and for the first time with Sienna’s time on the show she’s got very real goals, very real ambitions and along comes Sinead and her husband Laurie.

“He’s the new deputy head at Hollyoaks High so the stage is set for a brilliant, complex, but incredibly grounded story for 2019."
