Hollyoaks Aedan Duckworth suddenly leaves soap as show recasts Ollie Morgan after shock exit

HOLLYOAKS' Aedan Duckworth has suddenly left the soap as show bosses recast Ollie Morgan after his shock exit.

The actor first appeared in the Channel 4 soap in January 2018 when he was introduced as Luke Morgan's secret son.

However, Aedan has been removed from the show's opening titles and a spokesperson confirmed to Digital Spy: "Aedan Duckworth is no longer appearing in Hollyoaks and his role has been recast."

Aedan was last seen on screen as Ollie this week in scenes that were shot in March before the coronavirus pandemic halted filming.

In newer scenes since lockdown restrictions were lifted on filming, Ollie's loved ones aired their concerns after he left the village abruptly off-screen.

He left a note saying he had decided to go and stay with his mother, Scarlett.

However, the character will need to return later this year as Ollie featured in the soap's flashforward episode last year, which was set on New Year's Eve 2020.

No further information regarding his departure has been given, and an announcement about who will replace him as Ollie will be made in due course.

During his time on the show, Aedan featured in a hard hitting storyline which saw Ollie being sexually abused by his football coach, Buster Smith.

Ollie also became a dad to baby Thierry, but he was put up for adoption.

Aedan's exit is the latest departure from the Channel 4 soap, after it was confirmed last month that Imran Adams would be leaving later in the year.

Imran plays Mitchell Deveraux and will leave at the end of his current contract, while Rachel Adedeji left earlier this year.
