Holly Willoughby sobs as Tamzin Outhwaite needed medical care on Freeze the Fear

Holly Willoughby broke down in tears as she watched her pal Tamzin Outhwaite bang her head during a terrifying Freeze the Fear challenge.

The last episode of the BBC One series aired on Tuesday night (May 17), with former EastEnders actress Tamzin, 51, stepping up as the show resumed its penultimate swimming under the ice challenge.

As Tamzin swam underwater, she ended up striking her forehead against the ice, resulting in a large bump.

As she shakenly got out of the water, Tamzin was approached by a concerned Holly.

The This Morning presenter, 41, could be heard saying: "She hit her head.

"Tam, well done. Is your head alright? Are you alright? Do you need to see the medic?"

As Tamzin replied: "I might need to sit down," Holly countered with: "I know I feel like that too.

"We're going to get you checked out, okay and just make sure everything is okay."

She could later be heard saying: "It's just so scary."

While Tamzin received medical treatment, Holly could be seen getting even more distressed.

She was later consoled by her co-host Lee Mack, who queried the distressed presenter about her upset.

Turning away from the camera, Holly could be seen burying her head in her hands.

She could also be seen wiping tears from her face between her gloved fingers.

While speaking with Lee, she said: "I feel bad because [the remaining celebrities have] got to still do it."

Tamzin was later cleared by the Freeze the Fear medical team to resume in the series.

The final terrifying challenge saw the celebrities bungee jump off a bridge, with Tamzin rising to the task after previously vowing not to jump.

Holly also interviewed Wim Hof on Tuesday's episode of This Morning.

Freeze the Fear with Wim Hof aired on BBC One and is available to stream on BBC iPlayer.
