Holly desperately pleads with Phil to come back after he storms off This Morning

Frustrated Phillip Schofield stormed off the This Morning set today after having his lines stolen.

The angry presenter left co-host Holly Willoughby alone with guest Matthew Goode as he walked across the studio.

Embarrassingly they both said "welcome back" after the ad break, which prompted a furious reaction from Phil.

With raised eyebrows and flaring nostrils he sarcastically asked: "You’re doing my bits?"

Realising her error, apologetic Holly said: "I’ve just nicked your line haven’t I. I’m sorry I was excited."

"You can read whatever you like – I’m not paid by the word," replied Phil.

Getting increasingly annoyed, he added: "Off you go, do the whole damn lot if you want."

Guilt-ridden Holly tried to apologise but it was too late as Phil shouted "see you later" and stormed off.

But his protest didn’t go to plan as Holly decided to carry on without he co-host.

"This is nice I could get used to this," she said, while Phil stood across the room with his arms crossed.

She than asked guest Matthew, who joked that there was a lot of room, to present with her.

Eventually giving up on the protest, Phil said: "It’s so easy."

Holly then beckoned for him to rejoin her on the sofa so they could get on with the show.

She pleaded: "Come on come back, I apologise, I won’t do it again."

Phil reluctantly returned to the sofa after the tense peace talks.
