Here's Your First (Very Brief) Look At The Final Season Of 'Game Of Thrones'

If you tuned in for that wild Sharp Objects finale last night on HBO, you likely glimpsed previously unseen footage from the final season of Game of Thrones. Didn’t catch it? Don’t beat yourself up – the clip only lasted for all of three seconds.

In the video, promoting HBO original content to be released next year, we see Meryl Streep make her Big Little Lies debut, Mahershala Ali take center stage in True Detective Season 3, and, most importantly, we get a very brief glimpse of Jon Snow (Kit Harington) reuniting with his half-sister-turned-cousin Sansa Stark (Sophie Turner) at what we assume to be Winterfell. And of course, if Jon’s back at Winterfell, that means we’ll likely see a Jon and Arya reunion, and possibly even an Arya and Gendry reunion! We also see Sansa direct her signature icy glare to whoever (whatever?) is standing behind Jon’s shoulder – our money’s on Daenerys.

People quickly took to Twitter to dissect just about every inch of the three-second clip.

You’ll catch other brief Game of Thrones shots throughout the compilation trailer, but the internet has determined the Jon and Sansa clip to be the only new material from Season 8. Unfortunately, this wee clip will likely have to satiate you until Season 8 premieres sometime in 2019, likely late spring.

You can see Jon and Sansa hug it out at the 1:10-minute mark.
