Here's Your First Look at Upcoming Teen-Centric 'Walking Dead' Spinoff

The show is coming Spring 2020.

The world of "The Walking Dead" just got a little bigger.

AMC dropped the first teaser for the franchise’s second spinoff, this one centering on a group of young adults who grew up during the zombie apocalypse that’s plagued the show.

Stars Alexa Mansour, Aliyah Royale, Nicolas Cantu, Hal Cumpston and Annet Mahendru all appear in the promo, which gives us a better idea of the plot of the still-untitled series.

"What if you grew up in a world of safety and you decided to leave, to discover the truth of who you are and what the world really is," they ask. "There have been things going on in ‘The Walking Dead’ universe since the very start of the story, all happening over all these years, in other places we haven’t seen, with people we haven’t seen, with the dead we haven’t seen."

Though there’s no actual show footage in the teaser, the concept art shown certainly piqued our interest. Among the artwork: crashed planes filled with hanging zombies, dead bodies overgrown with plant life and four characters with weapons, ready to fight.

According to "The Walking Dead" Universe’s chief creative officer Scott Gimple, the kids will all have grown up "behind walls" in a very cushy community. "They know what walkers are, they know how to kill them, but they’ve never done it," he explained at Comic-Con.

The series will follow these teens as they leave their home for the first time, as "some of these kids become heroes, and some become villains."

The show will premiere on AMC in Spring 2020.
