The Witcher: Blood Origin arrives today (December 25) on Netflix with all four episodes dropping in one go. The mini-series has been adapted from the work of Polish author Andrzej Sapkowski from his Witcher book series by Declan de Barra and Lauren Schmidt Hissrich, the latter of whom is the showrunner on the main Netflix series. Here’s a look at the star-studded cast of the drama.

Who is in The Witcher: Blood Origin cast?

Seanchai – Minnie Driver

British actress Minnie Driver will be lending her voice to The Witcher: Blood Origin as the show’s narrator, Seanchai.

Oscar-Nominated star Driver is best known for Good Will Hunting, Grosse Pointe Blank and Circle of Friends as well as TV series The Riches.

Scian – Michelle Yeoh

Fellow Hollywood heavyweight Michelle Yeoh is warrior Scian who leads the show and is no stranger to screens thanks to her roles in Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon, Tomorrow Never Dies, Everything Everywhere All at Once, and Crazy Rich Asians.

Some of her other most notable roles are in Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings, Star Trek: Discovery and most recently The School for Good and Evil.

Chief Druid Balor – Lenny Henry

Sir Lenny Henry joins another fantasy franchise after his turn in Amazon Prime Video’s The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power earlier this year and takes on the part of Chief Druid Balor.

National treasure Lenny has a career spanning decades and some of his most notable roles include Chef!, Hope and Glory, the Harry Potter film franchise, and ITV crime drama Broadchurch, among many other roles.

Fjall – Laurence O’Fuarain

Laurence O’Fuarain portrays Fjall with the star previously featuring in Vikings, Game of Thrones, Void and Black 47.

Some of his other projects include Rebellion, Into the Badlands, Red Rock and Can’t Cope, Won’t Cope.

Eile – Sophia Brown

Taking on the role of Eile is Sophie Brown with The Witcher: Blood Origin marking her biggest role to date after she starred in Giri/Haji in 2019.

She’s also starred in The Capture, Disobedience, Clique, Marcella, Guerrilla and I Am Tara.

Empress Merwyn – Mirren Mack

Mirren Mack assumes the mantle of the regal Empress Merwyn with the show again being her most high-profile part to date.

Mirren has also starred as Florence in Sex Education as well as roles in The Nest, Dalgliesh and Blood Rites.

Zacare – Lizzie Annis

Lizzie Annis plays the part of Zacare with the up-and-coming star appearing in the podcast series Crush Hour: A Musical and the short film Night Growler.

Meldof – Francesca Mills

Francesca Mills portrays Meldorf and is best known for her roles in Harlots and Worzel Gummidge.

She also appeared in Disney+ show Pistol earlier this year as well as TV show Sneakerhead.

Brían – Nathaniel Curtis 

British star Nathaniel Curtis plays Brían with the actor best known for his role in Channel 4’s critically acclaimed It’s A Sin.

This will be Curtis’ biggest role since It’s A Sin with the actor also appearing in a festive celebrity edition of The Great British Bake Off last year.

Syndril – Zach Wyatt

Zach Wyatt plays Syndril and viewers may recognise him from this role in ITV’s crime drama Karen Pirie earlier this year.

Other cast members include Huw Novelli as Brother Death, Dylan Moran as Uthrok One-Nut, Hebe Beardsall as Catrin and Jacob Collins-Levy as Eredin.
