Hawaii Five-0 and Magnum PI filming could be shut down by hurricane

Production on CBS shows Hawaii Five-0 and Magnum PI could be halted due to a hurricane that is currently on its way to Hawaii.

Hurricane Lane is a category 4 storm with winds of up to 150mph, and may disrupt filming on the two shows, but for now, shooting is going ahead as planned.

CBS has told Deadline that it is “closely monitoring the situation”, but the safety of the cast and crew is obviously its top priority.

The hurricane is expected to hit the filming location, Oahu, today (August 23), while Hawaii island, Maui, Lanai, Molokai and Kahoolawe have also been under a hurricane warning.

Hawaii Five-0 season 9 will premiere in the US on September 28 and WILL feature star Alex O’Loughlin.

The actor previously suggested that the eighth run would be his last on the show but indicated earlier this year that he’d had a change of heart.

“I don’t know that I’d say I got a ‘second wind’. But is there a way that I can realistically see a season nine being a part of my life? I think so,” he said.

Meanwhile, the reboot of Magnum PI is set to debut on September 24.

Fans weren’t too impressed by what they saw in a first-look at the revived series, but that hasn’t stopped actors Ken Jeong and Carl Weathers jumping on board.

Suicide Squad star Jay Hernandez is set to fill the title role, but his lack of moustache is already concerning fans of the Tom Selleck classic.
