No matter what you might think of Kim Kardashian West personally, you have to admit that the reality star has a stellar work ethic. From the moment she burst onto the scene with her family reality show, Keeping Up with the Kardashians back in 2007, the mother-of-three has been a staple in popular culture, from her fashion moments, relationship highs and lows, family drama and various ventures. However, fans of Keeping Up With the Kardashians know that despite her sexy image, Kardashian West is pretty straight-laced.
Though she’s hosted various events at clubs and parties, the beauty mogul has never been much of a partier. In fact, she rarely drinks alcohol and prefers to either be working or spending time with her little ones. Therefore, many folks were shocked when the queen of reality TV opened up about some pretty wild moments in her past that involved substance abuse.

Some wild times
While many of us were introduced to Kim. K. and her family through Keeping Up with the Kardashians, others will recognize her as an old friend and former assistant of hotel heiress and socialite, Paris Hilton. It was through Hilton that Kardashian first began to desire fame and notoriety. The duos’ friendship stretches back decades. On a recent episode of KUWTK, North’s mom revealed that she and Hilton once slept on rafts in the ocean after departing a party in Ibiza at 7 a.m.
She remembered, “I definitely went through a wild phase, I would say in my late teens. I’m not like that anymore. But I still have fun — don’t get it twisted, I’m always the life of the party.”
Kim reveals her past drug use
On the same episode of KUWTK, the KKW Beauty CEO came clean about her past experiences with ecstasy. While chatting with her sorta brother-in-law Scott Disick and her younger sister Kendall Jenner, she said, “I did ecstasy once, and I got married. I did it again, I made a sex tape. Like, everything bad would happen.”

Kardashian eloped in 2000 when she was just 19 years old, marrying music producer Damon Thomas. Thomas was 29 at the time, and it was a tumultuous and controlling marriage. The music producer was allegedly physically abusive to the reality star as well. The couple divorced in 2003 and Kardashian revealed in her filing,
Damon decided what we would do and when we would do it. He was very much the ‘king of the castle. He said he did not want me to have contact with my old boyfriends who would be able to reach me at the clothing store. Damon told me not to leave the house unless I first told him when and where I was going. If Damon were not home, I was required to call him and ask permission to leave the house. For example, he would not allow me to go to the mall alone, or with friends. He told me that he did not want men to have an opportunity to “hit” on me.
Unfortunately, Kardashian’s relationship woes did not end after her divorce to Thomas. In 2007, she became a household name after her sex tape with then-boyfriend Ray J, was released without her knowledge or permission.
Almost twenty years after her first marriage and more than a decade after her sex-tape scandal, Kardashian hasn’t touched ecstasy since. She recalled that it was a terrible experience saying, “Like, my jaw was shaking the whole time.”
The best thing about Kardashian West is that she’s never allowed her past to define her.
