Damon Hay (Ciaran Griffiths) made a swift exit from Coronation Street in dramatic scenes on Friday (June 23), after Adam Barlow (Sam Robertson) put his life in danger.
Adam’s blood starts boiling the moment Damon’s name is mentioned, ever since he learned that Damon had bedded wife Sarah Platt (Tina O’Brien).
With Damon’s presence on the street proving too overbearing for Adam to take, he went to drastic lengths to ensure Damon would disappear for good.
Knowing that Damon had been involved with the insurance scam that had left Paul Foreman (Peter Ash) facing a jury, Adam dug further into the case in order to work out who was the leader of the operation.
It didn’t take him long to find out, and he had soon arranged a meeting with criminal boss Niall.

During the meeting, Adam spun a web of lies in order to turn the dangerous and violent Niall again Damon.
He informed the leader of the operation that Damon planned to shop him to the police in exchange for a reduced sentence on an aggravated assault charge.
Adam insisted that Damon was desperate, to which Niall pointed out he must be ‘suicidal’ to grass, proving just how dangerous a situation Adam had put him in.
When Niall revealed that he would have to think about it before taking any action, Adam told a further fib by saying that Damon would be speaking to the police the following day.
Later, Adam delighted in telling Damon exactly what he had done, pointing out that he would be best off getting as far away from Weatherfield as possible.
When Adam refused to give in to Damon’s threats, Damon realised just what a mess he was in, and quickly made arrangements to leave the street.
He made sure to warn Sarah before pulling away, unaware that Adam would delete the message from his phone before she could see it.
Has Damon left Coronation Street for good?
In soapland, does anyone ever really go away forever?
What we know so far comes from a spokesperson for Corrie itself.
They told Metro.co.uk: ‘There’s definitely some unfinished business between Sarah and Damon, Adam would like to believe this is the end of Damon but whether it is or not remains to be seen.’
