Grey’s Anatomy star Camilla Luddington would welcome a return for Katherine Heigl and her character Izzie Stevens, especially with the “juicy” drama it would inevitably cause on the show.
Luddington’s character Jo Wilson got married to Alex Karev (Justin Chambers), but a shock Izzie reappearance would be interesting to see as there is history between her and Alex.
“I actually think it’s kind of a fun idea,” she told PeopleTV. “I just think, it would be juicy. It would bring out maybe a bit of drama.
“But I think it got put to bed last season, because [Alex] did say that he’s happy for her, wherever she is and whatever she’s doing.
“So I joke about not wanting it to happen, but it would be kind of juicy, wouldn’t it?”
Heigl recently spoke about Izzie and believes her character would be happy for Alex and Jo.
“I would hope that [Izzie] pursued her [medical] career. She could have children by now. She could be married,” she said.
“If she has moved on, then I would expect Izzie to be very happy for him. She would want him to be happy.”

Heigl did not leave the show on the best of terms following a series of contentious disagreements with creator Shonda Rhimes and the writing team. However, since then she has said that she would be open to reprising her role.
