Good Morning Britain has now had more than 2,400 Ofcom complaints about the November 1 episode, in which Dr Hilary spoke of an "anti-vaccine" leaflet.

The episode previously attracted 1,600 complaints to Ofcom over the segment, which aired at the start of the month.

In the week that followed though, 804 more people complained to the broadcasting regulator.

In the segment which has garnered the complaints, Dr Hilary spoke of a leaflet which he said included "complete misinformation".

The leaflet falsely claimed to be linked to the Government, and explained apparent "risks" that could come with getting the Covid vaccination.

The information was labelled as "dangerous" by Dr Hilary, who then handed the yellow leaflet to host Richard Madeley, who ripped it up live on the show.

Dr Hilary said: "Beware of bogus letter drops, which are complete nonsense. This is complete misinformation.

“It looks like a Government UK yellow card reporting scheme for adverse reactions to any kind of medicines or vaccines.

“But this purports to talk about all sorts of adverse reactions to vaccines, which are completely bogus and hoax.”

Richard asked him: "So it is anti-vaccine?"

While Dr Hilary responded: "Oh absolutely – and this would put a lot of people off the vaccine, dangerously, because it is complete misinformation."
