Gogglebox fans in stitches as The Malones' dog attacks TV in filming blunder

Gogglebox viewers couldn't help but crack up tonight as The Malone's dog Dave made a guest appearance.

The Mancunian family sat on the sofa watching a clip from David Attenborough's new show when the filming blunder took place.

In the scene on the TV, a group of monkeys in Gibraltar were making loud noises as they scrambled on the ground.

The monkey screeches left poor rottweiler Dave feeling traumatised, waking him up from his sleep in the cosy living room.

Shocking the Malone family, Dave leapt up and attacked the TV, barking at the noisy monkeys.

Trying to stop him, dad Tom jumped off the couch and tried to pull him back.

Tom and Tom Jr shouted: "Dave what are you doing, you d*****d! Dave, it's on the telly!"

Over on Twitter, viewers were in stitches over the surprise interruption and made it clear the adorable pup was a beloved cast member on the show.

One said: "Get those monkeys Dave!"

A second added: "Dave joining in there. Can't blame him. Bad monkeys!"

While a third remarked: "Dave the rottie is one of the best viewers on Gogglebox."

And a fourth chipped in: "Literally The Malones make my Friday night. Especially Dave!"

Based in Manchester, The Malones are famous for their loveable set of pooches – Dave, Lucy, Frankie and Izzie often join them on the sofa.

When they were first cast for the Channel 4 show, dad Tom was a lorry driver and mum Julie was a homemaker, having formerly worked as a receptionist.

Their son Tom Jr is a street dance choreographer, having worked with megastars like the Black Eyed Peas in the past.

Gogglebox airs on Fridays at 9pm on Channel 4.
