Gemma Collins says she regrets promoting diet injections when she was in a ‘desperate place to lose weight’

GEMMA Collins has revealed that she regrets promoting diet injections when she was in a "desperate place to lose weight" and has rebranded herselfas the "fitness queen".

The 40-year-old reality star admitted that she's traded in her high heels for workout gear and trainers as she undergoes a "massive health overhaul".

The self-confessed diva said that she's "obsessed" with natural ways of losing weight includinghealthy eating and exercise" and regrets promoting SkinnyJabs.

Gemma was among the many celebrities who came under fire from fans, who slammed her for promoting the "dangerous" jabs.

Experts have previously warned that they could be "life threatening" and should always be prescribed by a doctor.

Speaking on the GC podcast, she said: “I have said that I’m not promoting any diet injections or anything like that.

"I kind of regret doing it but I feel like sometimes you’re in such a desperate place and you want to lose weight but actually I’ve come away from all the diet promotion because I wish we could get rid of that word diet.

"It’s basically what works for you. I eat scrambled eggs, bacon, avocados, I have two bits of chocolate, I have jelly, nuts. But my diet may not work for you, it’s just a healthy eating plan that works for you.”

The GC, who has been sharing her daily fitness regimes with her social media fans, has revealed that she regrets neglected her health in her 30s.

The reality star explained: “It is so important that we keep getting that message home to people, that beauty is more than just these pumped up faces, it’s not all about that.

"It’s crazy to think that one minute I was obsessed with clothes and shopping and now I’ve actually got obsessed with health and exercise.

"It’s me Gemma, my new name is fitness queen. Since turning 40 I’ve become so much more aware of my health and I’m kind of regretting maybe not taking my health as seriously as I should have done.

"In our 20s and 30s we don’t think about it, I am trying to be so fit and healthy right now, I am on a massive health drive."

Gemma has stunned fans as she proudly displayed the results of her incredible hard work, which has seen her shed an incredible three stone.

The TV star added: “I have been posting videos of my early morning workout; I have had to change my whole lifestyle. I’m up at 6 now, I got to bed at 10, I don’t leave my phone near my bed, I’ve gone on a massive health overhaul.

I just want you guys to feel this hype and buzz that I am feeling. I want to be feeling and looking my very best and I want to give my body the time it deserves to be its very best.”

Gemma recently showed off her incredibly small lunch as she continues her health kick, tucking into a meal of salmon and five slices of cucumber.

She recently explained that lockdown had been a blessing in disguise for her because it's given her time to make changes in her life.

She has been trying to shed the pounds for years – even resorting to controversial weight loss jabs in the past, as well as extreme diets.

Weight loss injections contain the injectable drug liraglutide, which can help suppress the appetite and control blood sugar levels.

Experts have warned that weight loss jabs can be dangerous, with common side effects of liraglutide including diarrhoea, dizziness, headaches, insomnia, skin reactions, toothache and vomiting.

However, Gemma has now found a healthy balance of diet and exercise, which appears to be the right lifestyle change for her to maintain.
