Game of Thrones fans were left stunned when season eight cast member Williams appeared to drop a major spoiler on a US talk show.

Williams was discussing the final series of Game of Thrones with talk show host Jimmy Fallon when she said Arya “died in episode two”.

The Game of Thrones star later revealed the spoiler was part of a major April Fools joke played on the audience.

The plan began when Fallon asked Williams: “Can you tell me anything? Are you allowed to talk about anything?”

Williams replied: “I’ve decided to just keep a tight lip on everything.

“HBO has sent out a lot of memos recently about just saying nothing, so there’s really nothing I can say, they’d absolutely kill me.”

Fallon asked again: “There isn’t just a little hint…a crumb?”

The Game of Thrones star responded: “During shooting, the final days were really emotional.

“Like saying goodbye to all the cast, because I found out that Arya died in like the second episode, I was…”

The Arya Stark actress then clutched her mouth in disbelief at the ‘spoiler’ she had just revealed to the world.

Williams then stormed off set in tears before Fallon went and brought her back to reveal the April’s Fool joke.
