Game Of Thrones left Starbucks cup in shot and we can’t deal with this

Like, is this deliberate? Did showrunners DB Weiss and David Benioff think it would be a light-hearted moment in an otherwise soul-destroying series?

Is a double-shot Matcha latte the secret to capturing the Iron Throne?

Some called for the prop to earn its own Emmy as it held court in the frame, even taking our attention away from the jealous death-glare Dany was shooting a joyous Jon.

Others want it to take the Iron Throne in the fight against Cersei Lannister (Lena Headey) in the coming episodes and right now we’re all about that life.

It comes after we raised a few questions following last night’s episode that saw some interesting developments we won’t dive into here on account of this being an irreverent romp about a coffee cup.

Safe to say, with or without Starbucky Barnes (that’s what we’ve coined the cup, you’re welcome), there is a lot to unpack and bring on episode five already.

Game Of Thrones continues on Sundays on HBO and Sky Atlantic. Catch-up on all the episodes so far on NOW TV.
