Friends fans have spotted something very strange about Ross and Monica’s dad

The final episode of Friends aired on televisions 15 years ago, but the love for the show has yet to dwindle.

With all 10 seasons currently streaming on Netflix and re-runs airing on Freeview, many new people are being introduced to Monica, Ross, Chandler, Rachel, Joey and Phoebe.

As well as attracting fresh audiences, long-time fans are also enjoying being able to watch their favourite episodes over and over again.

And this re-watch is giving them the chance to discover things about the show they never knew before – from spotting inconsistencies with Rachel's pregnancy to seeing something weird hidden in Joey and Chandler's apartment.

But that's not all. Most recently fans have noticed something bizarre about an episode from season eight – and it's all to do with Jack Geller.

In The One In Massapequa, the friends gather to celebrate Jack (Elliot Gould) and Judy's (Christine Pickles) 35th wedding anniversary.

Monica is planning to have the whole room in tears with a speech for her parents, Rachel and Ross have just announced they are expecting and Alec Baldwin guest stars as Phoebe's new boyfriend Parker.

However, during one scene at the party, Jack Geller appears to vanish, only to be replaced by an unknown stand-in.

One second Jack is seen standing behind Rachel, but the next time the camera cuts to show Jennifer Aniston's character, he's been replaced by a completely different person.

This man is much shorter than Elliot Gould and wears glasses.

A few moments later, everything returns to normal, with the correct actor once again stood beside Ross and Monica's mother.

Previously very few fans had noticed this blunder, but now thanks to wide screen technology it has come to light.

This is because the show was originally filmed with an aspect ratio of 4:3, but today everything is shown in 16:9 meaning that what was once just out of shot, can now be seen by all.

Despite the ridiculous errors that keep cropping up, fans of the show are still keen for a reboot.

But co-creator Mata Kauffman recently dashed all hopes of one being made.

In an interview with  Rolling Stone  the 62-year-old sad: "One, the show is about a time in your life when your friends are your family. It's not that time anymore. All we'd be doing is putting those six actors back together, but the heart of the show would be gone.

"Two, I don't know what good it does us. The show is going just fine, people love it. [A reunion] could only disappoint. 'The One Where Everyone's Disappointed'."
