HESTON'S GREAT BRITISH FOOD

Series final ★★★

Heston Blumenthal reveals more Great British food secrets.

Heston Blumenthal reveals more Great British food secrets.

7.30pm, SBS Food Network

Throughout this comprehensive food history series, Heston Blumenthal has perhaps taught us too much. Not about such interesting subjects as the origins of the sponge cake, and why Britons of yore used to add sheep droppings to their teapots, but about his own concoctions. Throwing a Mad Hatter's afternoon tea party complete with edible cake stands and trick cucumber sandwiches, the magician gives away some more of his secrets.

ADAM LOOKING FOR EVE (GERMANY)

8.35pm, SBS Viceland

Naked young Germans getting to know one another on a tropical island – what's not to love? Aside from the abundant exposure of sculpted flesh, not much. This shamelessly pervy dating-show mutation tends to run strictly to script, the sunburnt maidens almost always choosing the fitter, more aggressive male after a courtship dance. The foreign language takes some of the edge off. Don't bother with the subtitles.

KILLING EVE

★★★★★

8.30pm, ABC

Putting aside the unfortunate cinematic stereotype of the lovestruck lesbian as murderous, arch villainess, this really is a clever, multifaceted thriller that explores the possibilities of human behaviour. It's also full of unexpected twists and turns, the central plot as unpredictable as the psychopathic assassin, Villanelle (Jodie Comer) herself. Sandra Oh as an M15 spy who becomes obsessed with her target is bewitching to watch inch closer to the precipice of reason.
