Friday Picks: Nigella Feasts, An Outback Christmas, Bad Neighbours 2

NIGELLA FEASTS
Double episode series premiere ★★★
8.30pm, SBS Food Network

It's Nigella Lawson's simple indulgences and soothing bon mots that make her such a delight to watch, even if we have no intention of trying her easy recipes. Here, she savours the weekend with a chicken and sausage bake for her children, who frolic in the garden while she catches up on some work emails. Later, after she's snuck in a cider and some Welsh rarebit, they gleefully help decorate a chocolate honeybee cake. Bliss.

AN OUTBACK CHRISTMAS
Movie ★★½
7.30pm, NITV

In this deceptively crude 2D cartoon, an Aussie blue heeler called Bluey who, like the mad dogs in Noel Coward's song, goes out in the midday sun, trekking across the Outback on Christmas Day. He encounters a bunch of native animals with quirks of their own – a didgeridoo-playing emu, an echidna with a sense of humour, and a roo with a penchant for lettuce – and a certain jolly bogan with a big secret.

BAD NEIGHBOURS 2
Movie ★★★
9.30pm, 9Go!

Versatile Hollywood export Rose Byrne reprises her role as the Australian wife of Seth Rogen's uptight newish dad for this sequel to the original goofball generation-gap movie. Titled simply Neighbours in the US but slapped with the prefix here and in Britain for obvious reasons, this is everything you'd expect from a lark about hedonistic neighbours from hell and their long-suffering victims. The slapstick is extreme and relentless.
