Deanna, 75, put a smile on maitre d' Fred Sirieix's face as she unloaded her good onto the bar while she waited for her date Alex, 73, to arrive.
Viewers found the scene hilarious, writing on Twitter: "Bless the old dear she went food shopping for Fred #FirstDates.
"This old lady on First Dates is absolutely brilliant.
"Absolutely love the old lady on @FirstDates tonight with her trolley of treats and speed awareness courses ? @Channel4.
"This woman brought her shopping ! ??#firstdates.
"Hahahaha she's come well prepared with her trolley snacks ??? #FirstDates."
Having brought her own food supply, it shouldn't have come as a surprise that 4ft 7ins Deanna was a very fussy eater.
As car mechanic and adrenaline junkie Alex ran through the menu, Deanna responded to each dish with a blunt "no".
The pair shared their personal stories with Deanna revealing she divorced her second husband 20 years ago, while Alex had viewers in tears when he told how he lost his wife.
There was also plenty of comic relief.
When Alex told Deanna he'd travelled to London from Bucks, she replied "by bus?". Later it was Alex's turn to mishear, when the waiter asked what he wanted for his main, he replied "my name is Alex", prompting many laughing emojis to be shared in the Twittersphere.
While viewers willed them to find romance, it wasn't to be.
Deanna thought Alex talked about himself too much, and he seemed more interested in speaking to the waiter.
When the question was posed if they wanted another date, Deanna responded with a swift no.
There might not have been love but there date was certainly memorable.
