Fans Are Still Upset by the Valentine's Day Video Farrah Abraham Posted to Her Daughter's Instagram

It’s no surprise to hear fans are totally divided on what they think of certain reality TV stars. And when it comes to Farrah Abraham, her polarizing personality has put her at odds with many of her co-stars and viewers of her shows. We first met Farrah on MTV’s 16 and Pregnant, and she further made a name for herself and her brand when she was a staple on Teen Mom OG. Unfortunately, after reported difficulties working with her, she was let go from the show — but she still has a strong following on social media and maintains she’s a businesswoman who should be taken seriously.

Now that it’s Valentine’s Day, it’s no surprise that Farrah is making Instagram posts regarding the event — but fans can’t forget what she posted to her daughter’s social media account last year. Here’s what happened.

Farrah’s never been afraid to go against the grain when it comes to her parenting. And while her daughter is still just 9 years old, the Teen Mom star is determined to make her into an independent businesswoman from a very young age. This, of course, means having her own brand and social media accounts.

International Business Times reports Farrah started an Instagram account for Sophia when the child was just 6 years old. As for why the mom began the account, she exclusively told OK! Magazine, “So we actually had some talks, deep talks and Sophia just loves how I’m fun on my Instagram, my Snapchat. I include her as much as I can, but I do like to keep some things separate. I think that’s why it was important to give Sophia her own light.” Sophia’s social media account certainly came with backlash, however, as plenty of users noted she’s far too young to be posting her own content. Nevertheless, Sophia’s account still stands today.

She posted a video of Sophia many found offensive

While it seems as if Sophia is the one in control of her social media accounts, Farrah has mentioned in the past that she’s doing all of the work behind the scenes and oversees everything that’s put on her daughter’s Instagram. But that didn’t comfort many fans, as Farrah and Sophia’s followers were deeply offended by a video of Sophia posted to her Instagram to celebrate last Valentine’s Day.

The video posted in 2018 shows Sophia holding a phone in front of a mirror and singing along to “Fetish” by Selena Gomez. While the video in itself is pretty inoffensive, the lyrics to the song are totally inappropriate for someone Sophia’s age to be singing. “You got a fetish for my love
I push you out and you come right back,” Sophia can be seen lip synching. And fans had a seriously problem with the clip. “I’m so protective of my daughter and this is very sad. It’s also a scary thought to think who could be on here. Her mom acts like she’s oblivious to the dangers,” one follower said.

This is far from the first time Farrah’s received backlash for her daughter’s social media

Plenty of fans have expressed their anger over the years when it comes to Sophia’s social media accounts. And Wetpaint reminds us Sophia’s Snapchat account she had when she was just 7 years old was shutdown by the company after fans complained. According to fellow users, Sophia was on the app asking strangers to talk to her, and that’s when reports to Snapchat started coming in. Her account was soon shutdown, as any child under the age of 13 isn’t allowed to have their own account anyway.

Farrah seemed unfazed by the incident, however. She told Radar Online that she’s always right by Sophia’s side when her daughter’s using social media, so she knows nothing will go wrong. “Seven-year-olds are lighthearted when it comes to Snapchat. If she wants messages and she’s hyper then good for her before bed time,” the mom said.
