Emmerdale’s Paige Sandhu looks worlds away from Meena in sheer dress at BAFTA TV Awards

Emmerdale star Paige Sandhu looked worlds away from her character Meena Jutla at the 2022 BAFTA TV Awards on Sunday 8 May at London's Royal Festival Hall.

The actress, 25, was joined by co-stars Kevin Mathurin, who plays vicar Charles Anderson, and Fiona Wade, who plays Priya Sharma.

Paige looked totally different to her character Meena in a stunning black sheer dress, which featured a strapless bodysuit underneath, jewell detailing and a thigh-high split with a ruffled hem.

The actress accessorised with a diamond necklace and wore her brunette locks in glamorous Hollywood waves, she added a slick of radiant make-up.

Emmerdale took to Twitter to share a collection of snaps of the ITV soap's cast at the 2022 BAFTA TV Awards, where they are nominated for the Soap & Continuing Drama gong.

The ITV soap captioned the photo with: "All dressed up and ready for the BAFTAs #Emmerdale #VirginMediaBAFTAs @KevMathurin #PaigeSandhu @FionaWade_."

It comes after Paige shared an emotional goodbye message last month after her character Meena's dramatic exit from the ITV soap.

In April, it was revealed that Meena had been sentenced to a minimum of 75 years in prison with the judge adding: "You will remain in custody for the rest of your life."

Taking to Twitter after the scenes, the hit ITV soap shared an emotional video of Meena star Paige saying goodbye to viewers.

In the clip, Paige jokes: "She’s finally gone down. Who knew?"

The actress then continues: "I just want to say thank you all for all of your support. Thank you to everyone at Emmerdale and ITV and all my beautiful actors and the crew. You’re all amazing.

“You’ve made this experience just the best of my life, and I will treasure these moments forever. And a big thank you, especially to Rebecca Sarker, my on-screen sister, but also a sister in my heart. I love you so much. Bye, everyone!"

It comes as Paige spoke about her future career plans following her dramatic exit from the hit ITV soap.

Talking to press about whether she had anything lined up next, the star said: "I do, actually. I am starting filming on something else, so that will be cool. Then there are other things that are potentials, so that's really exciting. They are all goodies, funnily enough!"

Paige also admitted that she would love to continue playing baddies, she added: "I definitely want to continue to play baddies. I love baddies. I think they're just so much fun to play.

"I just want to continue playing characters that are wildly different than me – where you can have a lot of fun, the roles are really challenging and fulfilling, and it doesn't really matter whether they are a goodie or a baddie.

"Just as long as I feel connected to them, I can have fun, it's challenging and it's written really well and the storyline is amazing."
