Anna Nightingale has promised some huge and ‘explosive’ Emmerdale scenes ahead as her character Andrea Tate bows out in time for the actress to go on maternity leave.
The star is expecting her second child with fiancé Daren Dixon. She is already mum to her daughter Autumn.
This means that down the line, Andrea will be leaving the Dales – at least on a temporary basis.
But it doesn’t look set to be a quiet affair as Anna has teased major storylines in the run up to the goodbye.
She told OK!: ‘Obviously I can’t give too much away but it’s safe to say fans need to watch out, there’s some explosive stuff coming up!
There’s going to be a lot of drama before I get to go off to have this little one. Watch this space, that’s all I can say!’
But she did hint that the exit won’t be permanent as she enthused that she is as happy at the show as she has ever been.
She smiled: ‘I love it there! It feels like you have about 15 jobs in one because there’s so much depth and complexity with Andrea, she’s an incredible character to take on.’
She has certainly had a turbulent time since arriving in the village, with her marriage to Jamie (Alexander Lincoln) breaking down and a war with Kim (Claire King) raging on.
Currently, Andrea is locked in a custody war with her demonic mother-in-law over access to Millie.
And things may be about to get nastier as Kim rarely gives up a fight until she has won.
Will she be the one to engineer Andrea’s exit?
Or will Andrea take Millie into the sunset, leaving Kim seething?
