Fans of the ITV soap saw Jessie – played by Sandra Marvin – see her have a furtive conversation with her newly arrived son Ellis where he asked her if she’d told Marlon her secret yet.
Jessie replied explaining that she hadn’t and she would only tell him if she absolutely had to leaving fans speculating as to what the family secret could be.
Next week Marlon, Mark Charnock, is taken aback by Ellis’ attitude towards Jessie and asks her if there is anything going on with her son.
Meanwhile Ellis realises that Jessie is keeping something from him that Marlon also doesn’t know about yet.
So what is she up to? Is there someone else in her life?
When Marlon returns Jessie at last reveals the truth about her secret, leaving Marlon floored.
But what is it?
Actress Sandra revealed to the Sun Online back in March that her character had a secret she was keeping from Marlon.
She teased: “I think her family history is yet to be discovered, let's say."
She added: "I mean she's obviously got a son that she talks about a lot and she's looking for somewhere to live nearer to he village.
"Ideally for somewhere her son can visit or something like that, so whether he's someone that comes in the future, I don't know.
"In fact, I don't know if I can say much more without giving stuff away, really, but yeah."
