Emmerdale fans left in tears as Charity and Vanessa kiss after declaring their love for each other

The pair, who have been dubbed Vanity by fans, finally said they loved each other for the first time before sharing a passionate kiss – providing a romantic antidote to Charity’s (Emma Atkins) current challenging storyline.

During the scene, the couple were watching Charity’s sons bonding over TV after Vanessa (Michelle Hardwick) organised a family dinner.

Overcome with emotion Charity told her:  “You are something truly special.”

She continued:  “I love you. I really really stupidly and completely love you.”

Looking elated, Vanessa replied: “Of course you do, because I wouldn’t go and fall in love with someone who didn’t love me back, would I?”

Charity asked her if she was just saying it and she replied: “Charity Dingle, I really really stupidly and completely love you too!”

The couple then shared a passionate kiss much to the delight of those watching at home.

One elated person tweeted: “I'm actually crying there are tears streaming down my face #vanity #emmerdale how will I ever be over this.”

Another added: “I started watching emmerdale again n vanity said ‘I love you’ honestly my gay heart is crying with happiness I SWEAR #emmerdale.”

While someone else gushed : “I am so full of emotion right now, #vanity have said I Love You they are so beautiful omg i cant stop crying.

“I love them so much ?is everyone an emotional mess yet! I will never stop watching this  #VanityILoveYous #VanityForever #Emmerdale #EmmaAtkins #VanessaWoodfield (sic).”

Speaking about whether her character had found true love, Emma told Digital Spy recently: "Yes, no doubt about it. I think she's looked everywhere else and she's gone for the wrong type before this.

"Charity never actually went looking for love with Vanessa. In fact, she always warned Vanessa that it was just going to be a flash-in-the-pan thing.”
