Emmerdale fans convinced Rishi will be blamed for fatal factory blaze after confessing to money troubles

EMMERDALE fans are convinced Rishi Sharma is going to be held responsible for the devastating fire that will claim a life in the village next week.

The businessman – who is played by actor Bhasker Patel in the ITV soap – confessed to using the sweet factory's finances to pay off his wife Manpreet's substantial debts, putting the company in danger of bankruptcy.

As his horrified children discovered his scheme, they heaped blame on Rishi and Manpreet telling him the factory would have to close – and everyone would be out of work.

A desperate Rishi went to the only person he could think of with enough money to save the factory – Kim Tate, who agreed but attached strict conditions to her loan offer and prohibitive interest rates.

But with Rishi being so desperate to approach Kim, fans have begun to suspect he may take more drastic measures and set fire to the factory to claim the insurance money to kick start the business.

Taking to Twitter, one wrote: "Rishi would never hold up under torture. Bet the Sharmas get blamed for the fire."

A second said: "So is the police gonna think this up coming fire is an inside insurance job plot or…."

The fire will claim the life of at least one villager next week when it rips through the factory, but Kerry and Amy Wyatt are going to be convinced that they are responsible after they attempt to cover up their robbery of the money from it.

The day after Bernice Blackstock’s Wild West fundraiser will see Amy and Kerry desperate to get together the money they need to pay off Amy’s debt from Belfast.

It’s not long before Kerry – who’s played by Laura Norton – remembers the charity money which has been stored in the safe at the factory.

She hatches a plan and sets off the fire alarm so she can steal the cash while no one else is there.

But Kerry is horrified when she later discovers that she’s been caught on CCTV and Amy tells her she has to cover their tracks.

The women let themselves back into the factory and set about sabotaging the CCTV before leaving, not realising they have apparently sparked a fire with the damage.

The fire rages as the villagers rush to scene to help. The next day the police and fire investigators sort through the ruins of the factory and Jai Sharma is determined to get to the truth.

It was confirmed earlier this month that at least one villager would lose their life in the terrifying blaze.
