He punched Lloyd in the face, causing the stalker to fall to the ground and hit his head on a rock.

When the police arrived at the scene, they were keen to question Dan’s boss Cain even though he had nothing to do with the incident.

Eventually, Dan confessed to being responsible for hurting Lloyd and he was arrested at the end of the episode.

However, will he try and frame Cain in a bid to avoid a prison sentence?

Lloyd had to be taken to hospital, but there is no certainty he will pull through.

Could Dan end up facing a murder charge? Perhaps Cain will flee the village if he finds out he’s about to be framed for a crime he didn’t commit.

However, there were witnesses, so Cain might be better off remaining in Emmerdale and proclaiming his innocence.

Emmerdale airs on weeknights at 7.30pm on ITV and ITVX.
