Emmerdale’s Liv Flaherty (played by Isobel Steele) has previously suffered from substance abuse and has already landed her in hospital. Liv had been battling her addiction for months over the guilt she felt over Paul Ashdale’s (Reece Dinsdale) death. Then after being found in a cemetery beside Leanna Cavanagh’s (Mimi Slinger) grave, choking on her own vomit, she overcame her problem. However, in scenes to air next week, she could be set to slip back into her old ways as her brother Aaron Dingle (Danny Miller) and boyfriend Ben Tucker (Simon Lennon) move away from Emmerdale.

In upcoming scenes, Liv admits she tried to sabotage his job chance in Cornwall by giving him a bad reference, leaving him furious.

Shocked at her behaviour, Aaron leaves Liv feeling awful about what she did.

Feeling lonely, Liv can’t help eyeing the bottles of alcohol and is tempted by the promise of numbing the pain.

With the guilt becoming too much, she gives in a takes a drink from a bottle of vodka, sending her off the wagon.

Aaron later assures Ben he is ready to move away from Emmerdale with him for a fresh start then he will.

As they return to Mill Cottage, they discover Liv has relapsed but instead of being supportive, Aaron declares he is done picking up the pieces for her.

Feeling worse than she already did, she fears she has driven her brother away for good this time.

Could Aaron’s departure and falling of the wagon have a devastating end for Liv?

Will she be able to get help in time before it’s too late?

Isobel Steel, who plays Liv, has previously spoken about playing an alcoholic on screen and told The Mirror: “I’ve had a lot of messages.

“People saying that they’re really grateful for that representation because they’re also struggling with the same thing.”

In recent scenes, viewers will remember Jai Sharma (Chris Bisson) tried to bribe Ben to take the blame for the accident which happened on the bridge for £10,000.

With criminal charges likely, Ben could be facing prison charges for signing off on the bridge being safe.

Viewers will know that the bridge collapsed because Manpreet Sharma (Rebecca Sarker), Charles Anderson (Kevin Mathurin), Victoria Sugden (Isobel Hodgins) and David Metcalfe (Matthew Wolfenden) were all on it at the same time.

After telling his partner about the bribe, Aaron stormed into the HOP to confront Jai and ended up landing a blow to his face.

With his relationship on the rocks and with no job, he decided to make a shocking decision and look for another job outside of Emmerdale.

Understanding Ben’s career in jeopardy, Aaron is supportive when he finds out he is looking for a new job out of the HOP.

Fans will know that Danny Miller is taking part in this year’s I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here!, which starts on Sunday 21st November.

Emmerdale airs weekdays from 7pm on ITV.
