Emmerdale is set to air a series of gritty and horrific scenes as part of a huge week that will change lives forever. Victoria Barton (Isabel Hodgins) will be raped during a night out with friends and fellow villagers.
Meanwhile, another character will be stabbed in a devastating altercation but whether they live or die remains to be seen. The night out has already been teased as being done in a unique style which suggests the storylines will play out over several episodes.
Many of the soap’s characters will be on the same night out when the rape turns Victoria’s life upside down while another faces a fight for their life after an attack.
The storyline will also take the Maya Stepney (Louisa Clein) and Jacob Gallagher (Joe-Warren Plant) strand to the next stage – with a dramatic twist that will see the truth about her abusive affair with the teenager come to light.
Many questions still remain such as who attacks Victoria and who will be stabbed? And exactly what consequences await Maya when she is exposed what she is – a trailer sees her covered in blood so will she be taken away by the police or will she face a more final and violent ending?
The events will kick off far reaching consequences for many of the characters in the village – some who are surprising. But we are sworn to secrecy over further details so as to preserve the twists and turns for fans.
The scenes are set to air in April, kicking off a big summer of the Dales.
