EastEnders star Maisie Smith has uploaded a powerful TikTok video about body confidence issues.
The actress, who played Tiffany Butcher in the BBC One soap, is seen wearing a silver bikini and walking around a swimming pool on holiday.
The music over the footage has the lyrics ‘I wish somebody would’ve told me that thighs of thunder meant normal human thighs. The f*****g pressure I was under, to lose my appetite.’
Maisie confidently poses in the video and finishes it with images of her out and about, most captured from her time training during Strictly Come Dancing.
Maisie captioned the video, ‘feel like this sound was made for me’, perhaps referencing to the fact she has been very open and honest about her body confidence in the past.
Back in 2020, she uploaded a series of images to her Instagram taken from a variety of different angles.
She wrote: ‘The past few years I’ve been VERY insecure about my legs. I covered them up as much possible. No matter how many people told me “cellulite is natural.. everyone has it..” I still hated them. It’s taken me a while but I’m starting to accept these aspects of myself that I’ve always seen as “flaws”. I wore gym shorts (out of the house) for the FIRST time a couple of months ago n I was so so proud of myself 💘. I wish I could I say that I LOVE my body but I’m still working on that 😅’
Continuing the post, she added: ‘The reason I posted this was because I understand that it’s SO hard to love yourself and see your “flaws” as “qualities”. We ALL have things we want to change about ourselves. But I hope this can help other people feel more confident about their own insecurities.’
Following her exit from EastEnders last year, Maisie is set to join Alison Hammond and Vernon Kay for the BBC One remake of Friends Like These.
She is also reportedly set to star in the celebrity version of Channel 4’s SAS Who Dares Wins.
Back in May, it was revealed she’d be starring alongside Strictly’s Kevin Clifton, for the upcoming UK tour of Baz Luhrmann’s Strictly Ballroom the Musical.
