Eastenders spoilers: Sean Slater BLAMED in Jean Slater death tragedy?

Sean Slater (played by Rob Kazinsky) left Eastenders 10 years ago but is set to return later this week following the news of his mother Jean Slater’s (Gillian Wright) cancer diagnosis.

Jean is overjoyed her son has returned to see her and almost misses her chemotherapy appointment after finding out Stacey Fowler (Lacey Turner) and Kat Slater (Jessie Wallace) tried to hide his return from her.

Sean turns up just in time and takes Jean to her appointment but the reunion between the Slater mother and son doesn’t go smoothly.

The returning character had no idea how bad Jean’s condition was and doesn’t react well when he finds out exactly what his mum has been going through without him.

When Sean starts to talk about the future, Jean shuts him down causing him to erupt and lose his temper at his mother and sister.

Pulling him to one side, Stacey warns Sean Jean’s recovery has to be their number one priority and he must try to avoid upsetting her.

It’s not long before Sean is considering leaving Walford again but when Jean suggests a trip away he decides to stick around for a little bit longer.

The pair set off and turn up at a remote farmhouse where Jean can’t wait to spend some quality time with her runaway son.

However they are soon reminded of Jean’s condition when a clump of Jean’s hair falls out as they prepare to go on a walk together.

Later on, Jean seriously injures her leg and despite her attempts to brush it off, Sean is forced to accept his mother has deteriorated a lot more than he first thought.

Realising that he might not have much time left, Sean makes a shocking revelation to Jean which will send shockwaves through the Slater family.

Before Jean has time to process his admission, she loses consciousness and Sean has to rush to try and save her.

Sean wastes no time in calling an ambulance and urges Stacey to get to them as soon as possible but Jean’s condition could have worsened by the time she arrives at the hospital.

Will his confession be the last thing Jean hears or will she get the chance to reveal all to Stacey?

Speaking about the shock revelation, Rob Kazinsky told What’s On TV: “He knows he might only have a short period of time where he could tell her the things he was always too afraid to say.

“Sean comes back to make peace so that if Jean does die she knows the truth.”

The devastating reality of his mother’s health isn’t the only shock Sean has to face when he arrives on the square.

Sean has no idea his ex-wife Roxy Mitchell is dead and is told the tragic news by his former nemesis Jack Branning (Scott Maslen).

Jack explains Roxy died along with her sister Ronnie in a swimming pool accident on New Year’s Day in 2017.

How will Sean cope with the news, especially when he finds out that Jack blames Roxy for Ronnie’s death?

EastEnders continues Thursday on BBC One at 7.30pm.
