Phil Mitchell (Steve McFadden) seems to be made from Teflon as the EastEnders hard man has escaped justice for his criminal deeds for years.
No matter what he gets involved in – from robberies and violent attacks through to money laundering and attempted murder – Phil seems to come up smelling of roses.
True, he has ended up in the Arches pit more often that a car he is fixing and he has so many bullet holes in him that he could be mistaken for swiss cheese – but when it comes to legal punishment, he always wriggles free.
Kim Fox Hubbard (Tameka Empson) is determined to change that and, having discovered Phil’s knowledge and involvement in the death of her husband Vincent, she is determined to make him pay.
Phil tried to make things up to Kim after Vincent went missing by flinging money at the situation but she has recently learned the shocking truth about what truly happened.
Phil has issued threats and warnings that Aidan Maguire may strike back but Kim is undeterred.
It looks set to reach a huge crescendo when Phil is forced to go on the run from the law – taking his son Raymond with him.
In scenes likely to air over the new year, Phil is confronted by Sharon and Kat, who urge him to hand Denise’s son back.
And when the police catch up with him and arrest him, his time could finally be up.
Will Kim get the outcome she seeks as Phil faces a long stretch behind bars?
