EastEnders spoilers: Max Branning turns violent as he rages over Bobby Beale’s return

Bobby (now played by Clay Milner Russell) has been in prison for the past few years after he killed sister Lucy Beale (Hetti Bywater).

However, there was initially a big mystery surrounding who the EastEnders culprit really was.

It was Max (Jake Wood) who got the blame initially before the truth outed on the BBC soap.

Jane Beale (Laurie Brett) tried to cover it up to protect Bobby as Max spent a year behind bars for a crime he did not commit.

It was eventually revealed that Bobby had hit his sister round the head with a jewellery box.

Now, it looks like Max will try and enact some revenge next week on the programme when Bobby reappears.

When the youngster first arrives back in Albert Square, he tries to keep a low profile.

Although, in the Beale house he is reminded of his sister and decides to leave to go out for a walk.

However, it doesn’t go as planned as a group of lads then steal the hat he is using to try and conceal his identity.

Max spots him and chases him down to his house where he knocks the door down.

Later on, Ben Mitchell (Max Bowden), Bobby’s uncle, arrives and the youngster is obviously petrified.

Ben manages to talk to Max and gets him to leave before reaching out to Bobby.

His attempts backfire and Bobby’s left feeling even more upset.

Max is still raging so goes to find Bobby’s grandmother Kathy Beale (Gillian Taylforth) to ask her why she didn’t tell him Bobby was back.

Ben later finds his mother in tears as Kathy reveals her troubles over Bobby.

Elsewhere, Max vents to his wife Rainie Branning (Tanya Franks) about the matter.

Could this be another long-running feud on the Square?

Max might want to be more wary of Ben, who he has already come to blows with.

It looks as though Ben will want to protect his nephew, so Max might want to watch out.

EastEnders continues tonight at 7.30pm on BBC One.
