EastEnders spoilers: Max Branning recruits Rainie to destroy Bobby Beale in revenge plan?

Max (played by Jake Wood) accosted Bobby (Clay Milner Russell) after spotting him in the Square in the long-running BBC soap.

But as Max was about to land a punch on the cowering teenager, Ben (Max Bowden) walked in and Max made his leave.

The businessman is clearly furious over Bobby being back after killing his sister Lucy (Hetti Bywater) because the blame had been pinned on Max who was jailed for nearly a year.

In this evening’s instalment of EastEnders, he returned home later on where he spoke with his wife Rainie Branning (Tanya Franks).

Nothing you can do about it

Max vented: “Three years, that’s what he got. That’s the justice system for you.

“I’m nowhere near getting over what I went through and there he is, walking about. Ain’t got a care in the world.”

“You should’ve been warned,” Rainie replied as she leant over to comfort Max.

“Still, nothing you can do about it,” she continued before Max added: “Ain’t there?”

As viewers know, Max and Rainie both have a penchant for vengeance, so could they team up together to take down Bobby?

He set up a very elaborate plan in 2017 when he sought to take down those who had been responsible for sending him to prison so he is capable of almost anything.

Earlier in the programme, Max had issued a warning to Kathy Beale about her grandson.

She knew Bobby was back but kept his arrival under wraps for fear of what could happen to him if Max or others saw him.

Max confronted her in the Walford East restaurant as he said: “Three years, three years, that’s what you get now. You kill your sister and you get three years.”

“He’s served his time, and I was waiting before Ian got back to tell anyone he was home,” Kathy explained.

Max admitted: “I swear to you I wanted to hurt him. Promise, I wanted to smash his little head in.”

“He’s just a child,” Kathy pleaded.

“Nah he’s evil,” Max replied. “In fact, you want to watch yourself. One day you’re going to wake up and he’ll be stood over your bed with a knife.”

It remains to be seen whether Bobby has changed, or if time inside has in fact made him worse.

His uncle Ben tried to have a chat with him as they both share common ground in having murdered another Albert Square resident with Ben having killed Heather Trott (Cheryl Fergison).

However, Bobby told him to get out of his room as he didn’t want advice from “someone like [Ben]”.

EastEnders continues Monday at 8pm on BBC One.
