As the former landlord of the Queen Vic comes to terms with the news, Hayley is furious to see him and demands that Jean Slater gets rid of him and puts an end to the birthday party going on at the Slater house.
Believing that Hayley – played by Fish Tank star Katie Jarvis – had an abortion after their one-night-stand in Spain, he is desperate to get answers from Hayley, but is left distracted when Kat corners him and insists on talking to him about being back in Walford.
Struggling to focus on the two women in his life, Alfie – Shane Richie – manages to distract Kat by dropping Stacey Fowler in it and revealing to his estranged wife that she was the one he called him.
As Kat rails at Stacey for getting involved, Alfie takes the opportunity to slope off and find Hayley.
When they’re alone he tells Hayley that he’s back for Kat, leaving her deflated and when Kat butts in on their conversation, they’re forced to cover.
Later, Alfie pleads with Hayley to let him be a part of their baby’s life, but Hayley refuses and threatens to tell the truth to Kat if he doesn’t back off.
Hayley is then left feeling horrible when Kat realises she’s upset about something and does her best to comfort her.
Will Hayley’s guilt get the better of her and force her to reveal what she and Alfie were really talking about earlier?
