EastEnders is lining up fresh tension between Max Branning and Rainie Cross as they clash over baby Abi next week.
Max (Jake Wood) was left delighted when he was handed full time custody of his young granddaughter recently, after months of uncertainty.
Max is planning to raise Abi with his wife Rainie, having developed genuine feelings for her during their sham marriage arrangement.
But although the couple should be on cloud nine following the successful custody outcome, it looks like cracks are already starting to show in upcoming scenes.
With Rainie keen to step up to her motherhood responsibilities, she touches a nerve with Max when she takes baby Abi along to Hayley’s birthday party.
Concerned after realising what Rainie has done, Max soon interrupts the party and insists they go home.
Rainie is understandably left mortified by Max’s actions, but could this rock their happy family set up already?
EastEnders airs these scenes on Tuesday, December 4 at 7.30pm on BBC One.
