EastEnders airs a shock arrest tonight as Stuart's shooting mystery continues

EastEnders will air more twists in Stuart Highway’s shooting story tonight (September 7) as the police make their first arrest.

The show kicked off a big, new ‘Whodunnit?’ mystery earlier this week, after Stuart (Ricky Champ) was gunned down by an unknown culprit at The Vic.

With Stuart’s life hanging in the balance in hospital, last night’s scenes saw the Carters all being questioned by the police on their whereabouts earlier in the evening.

As the family protested their innocence, a huge question mark loomed over Linda’s behaviour – who later told Mick that she’d disposed of the gun to protect him.

To make matters worse for the couple, Mick has also lied to the police about his movements at the time of the shooting – falsely claiming that he was asleep upstairs.

Friday’s episode will see news of Stuart’s shooting start to spread around the Square, leaving the residents keen to find out who was responsible.

Before long, DI Arthurs arrives to make a shock arrest, but who will it be? And have the police got the right person?

We’ve rounded up a number of likely suspects who might have pulled the trigger – from the likes of Linda, Mick and Shirley, to the longer shots of Whitney, Lee and even Stuart himself.

EastEnders airs these scenes tonight at 8pm on BBC One.
