Eamonn Holmes slams Roxanne Pallett's apology as a 'PR stunt' and thinks Ryan Thomas should tell her to 'stick it'

THE TV legend hit out at the former Celebrity Big Brother star who today admitted she was wrong to accuse Ryan of physical abuse.

After dramatically quitting the show when she heard eviction crowds chanting "get Roxy out", the 35-year today appeared on The Jeremy Vine Show to say sorry.

But it wasn't good enough for Eamonn, who lashed out at Roxanne on social media.

He ranted: "It would have been better if she hadn't apologised with this PR stunt.

"At least there still would have been some doubt over whether she actually believed what she was saying…. however wrong.

"Sometimes it's good to accept an apology – Sometimes it's right to say Stick it."

The ex-Emmerdale actress faced a huge backlash from viewers after she accused housemate Ryan of physically assaulting her during a playful exchange in front of the cameras.

Roxanne said she felt scared to be around the former Corrie star and demanded he was booted out the house after "repeatedly punching her".

But her housemates rallied around 34-year-old Ryan when they failed to believe her side of the story.

Appearing on Jeremy Vine's new Channel 5 show this morning, Roxanne apologised for her "overreaction".

She told the host: "At the time it hurt, but when I look back on the footage, I got it wrong."

"My mind ran away with me. I am a sensitive person. My friends and family can vouch for that.

"In the house everything becomes so heightened, a look, a comment, an action. Your insecurities are heightened.

"All I can say is in the moment it felt worse than it was.

"I can't prove a feeling. It was the word 'deliberately' I regret.

"I massively apologise to Ryan, his family, friends, his fans – every single person who saw an overreaction to what wasn't a malicious act.

"I am heartbroken in contributing to Ryan's distress. I hope he can forgive me."

Ryan's brother Adam blasted Roxanne's apology as "pathetic".

He told his Twitter followers: "Jeremy vine to scared to speak up too pc pathetic interview !! …

"To everyone that knows her and knows the real her and the lies and the stories she has spun for several years it is so frustrating to watch …"

He ended his rant by writing: "good scene tho Rox annnddd cut!!"

Fans were also left outraged by the interview, and claimed Roxanne was "milking the attention" rather than sincerely apologising.

Meanwhile Ryan's girlfriend, former Towie star Lucy Mecklenburgh, demanded Big Brother bosses revoke his formal warning.

Appearing on the Victoria Derbyshire show today, the 27-year-old slammed CBB bosses over their treatment of Ryan.

She said: "To draw a line under it, I want CBB to revoke the warning and I want her to apologise…

"I think they give warnings when they [contestants] do serious things, but he hasn't done anything, and we can see that nothing happened."
