Doctor Who season 12 spoilers: Jenna Coleman’s favourite Time Lord ISN’T Matt Smith

Jennie Coleman will be known to many Doctor Who fans as the actress who brought Clara Oswald to life on the BBC One sci-fi show.

Clara was one of the Doctor’s many companions, and she served as a companion two of them – Matt Smith’s and Peter Capaldi’s versions of the Time Lord.

Jenna, who first appeared on the show in 2012, eventually left in 2015, and she briefly returns for the 2017 Christmas Special, Twice Upon A Time.

Since then, Jenna has gone on to star as Queen Victoria in ITV’s period drama, Victoria, which has proven to be a huge success.

The actress will be on The Jonathan Ross Show this evening to discuss the new season of Victoria which is currently airing on ITV, yet she’ll also speak briefly about her time on Doctor Who.

Jonathan will ask Jenna which is her favourite Doctor, and her response will come as a bit of a shock to most fans of the show.

Many people might think that Jenna would have said Jodie Whittaker – the latest person to take on the iconic role, and the first woman ever to play the Doctor.

Others might expect her to say Matt Smith or Peter Capaldi – the two actors she starred alongside.

However, Jenna will shock everyone when she reveals that David Tennant is, in fact, her favourite.

Jenna was coy about choosing a favourite Doctor before she ended up jokingly whispering, “David Tennant!”

This came after Jenna revealed that she stole quite a lot of stuff from the set of Doctor Who.

“I stole quite a lot actually. I stole it, but somebody helped me, in the props department so I feel like that was okay,” she began while discussing her time on the show.

“I stole a piece of tardis. A proper Gallifreyan full-on piece under my jumper but it was in conjunction with the props team, they gave me the wink.

“I’ve also got the neon sign of the police box sign, and I’ve got that in my dining room, and it lights up.”

Meanwhile, Doctor Who fans are desperate to see the return of River Song (played by Alex Kingston), and it seems the actress has dropped one of the biggest hints yet we could see her against Jodie Whittaker.

This Morning welcomed Alex Kingston on to the show, and she spoke about a potential return for River Song.

On This Morning back in February, Alex said to Phillip Schofield and Holly Willoughby how much she would want to return.

When asked if she would go back to Doctor Who, Alex excitedly revealed: “Oh, I’m always up for that.”

She went on: “Well, I did’ feel like I’ve ever left because even though I’m not filming, I’m still doing the audiobooks.”

Alex went on to discuss Jodie in the lead role and explained how they met once.

She said: “We bumped into each other at Comic-Con and gave each other a hug.”

Doctor Who will return to BBC One in 2020.
