Disney's Lady and the Tramp reboot adds Community star to the cast

Disney’s live-action remake of Lady and the Tramp has added a new cast member.

Variety has announced that ex-Community star Yvette Nicole Brown has been cast as Aunt Sarah – the owner of trouble-making Siamese cats Si and Am.

In the story, Aunt Sarah is looking after Jim Dear and his wife Darling’s baby in their home, when Si and Am mess up the house and trick Sarah into thinking it was Lady.

Lady is then taken to the pet store to get a muzzle, but she gets away and eventually meets the Tramp, which later leads to that spaghetti scene. Iconic.

So far, Tessa Thompson has already been cast as Lady, while Justin Theroux will voice the Tramp. Lady’s owners will be portrayed by Thomas Mann and Kiersey Clemons.

Back in June, it was announced that the role of loveable Scottish terrier Jock, was being gender-swapped and turned in Jackie. Extras and Devil Wears Prada star Ashley Jensen is providing her voice.

The new Lady and the Tramp is set to air exclusively on Disney’s streaming service, which is tipped to launch in 2019.

The film is expected to combine live-action and CGI animation elements and production set to begin this autumn. Directing will be The LEGO Ninjago Movie’s Charlie Bean.

Lady and the Tramp is just one in a list of live-action versions of Disney classic that are currently in production, including The Lion King, Dumbo, Mulan and Pinocchio.
