Kids TV presenters Dick and Dom are hatching a comeback with a new show that’s based on their hit podcast Cash From Chaos.
The comedy duo, comprising of Richard McCoury and Dominic Wood, both 44, is best known for being kids entertainers in the Nineties and their BAFTA-winning show Dick and Dom in da Bungalow from 2002 to 2006.
Their latest offering is aimed at adults though, and they hope that their original fans from 20-odd years ago will tune in as grown-ups.
It will involve playing games against a live studio audience, with Dick and Dom’s earnings up for grabs.
According to the Daily Mirror, Richard said: “We’ve been moving to that millennial generation – the kids that grew up with us.
“Cash From Chaos is basically a game show, so the audience tries to win what we’ve been paid.
“They play games against us to try and win our money. It went really well. We’re going to start running in the pilots for it, so fingers crossed.”
Bizarrely, before the COVID-19 pandemic, the pair also worked as drum and bass DJs at various universities and festivals.
Then back in 2009, they hosted a Sky One quiz show called Are You Smarter Than A 10 Year Old?
They have also popped up on various reality shows as guests over the years including MasterChef in 2013 and Celebrity Come Dine With Me.
The pair, who are firm friends in real life too, were major hits back in the day and their show was famous for shouting out crude words like “bogies”.
The show was so popular that it was even debated in parliament for being so silly. A senior Tory MP asked Culture Secretary Tessa Jowell how the BBC could justify spending public money on such “lavatorial” content.
Richard added: “Kids still play Bogies nowadays and people shout it at us all the time. I think we are on the third generation of kids growing up.
“The kids that have grown up with Dick and Dom in Da Bungalow are between 25 and 35, so they’ve had kids and are teaching their kids Bogies.
“I’ll be in the supermarket and you can see them egg their kids on to shout bogies.
