Deadwater Fell: Fans distracted from drama as they spot huge blunder ‘That was a disgrace’

Tom Kendrick (played by David Tennant) and his wife Kate Kendrick (Anna Madeley) live in the small town of Kirkdarroch and tonight Deadwater Fell viewers watched in horror as their house burned to the ground. Tom and Kate were dragged from the house but the distressed neighbours weren’t able to save the three children still inside, but rumours have started to circulate as to who’s fault it really was.

Deadwater Fell lead viewers into a false sense of security before the tragedy began to unfold this evening. 

Viewers were treated to scenes of a quaint barn dance, as all the local children ran around happy and free. 

However, once they had all gone to sleep, Steve Campbell’s (Matthew McNulty’s) son thought he had heard an intruder only to realise that Tom and Kate’s house was engulfed in flames.

The friends were able to drag the adults out of the house, but they weren’t able to get to the three small kids leaving Kate and the children dead. 

However, it was a big character blunder that left viewers distracted from the tragic scene. 

As Tom and Kate were laid on the ground outside the burning building, the friends began CPR. 

One said: “That’s quite the worst CPR I’ve ever seen #DeadwaterFell.”


Another added: “THAT IS THE WORST CPR I HAVE EVER SEEN #DeadwaterFell.”

“Watching #DeadwaterFell and just witnessed the world’s most terrible chest compressions. Someone tell #casualty they’ve lost their crown!” explained another. 

And a fourth said: ”When is television CPR ever NOT hilarious? #DeadwaterFell.”

A fifth even went as far as to say: “No wonder why they all die! That CPR was a disgrace #DeadwaterFell.”

Tom was left in the hospital hooked up to tubes, but soon people wanted answers. 

And after the police learned of Kate’s history taking antidepressants, the rumours began to spread around the village as to who could have done such a thing. 

During a flashback when the family spent the day at the beach, Tom was seen making Kate feel guilty for being in a mood, possibly foreshadowing a manipulative side to their relationship. 

With the village left spinning after the tragedy, it fell on Steve Campbell to get involved in the case that viewers know is far too close to home.

But there are already cracks in the theories, and viewers were quick to note down a detail during the fire. 

Viewers were quick to spot that there were padlocks on the children’s bedroom door. 

One noted: “Why was the children’s bedroom padlocked?….bet it was the fat teacher the mum was talking to #DeadwaterFell.”

Another added: “#DeadwaterFell don’t think that big ass lock should be there…”

But who started the fire and are they still alive to face punishment?

Deadwater Fell continues on Channel 4 next Friday at 9pm.
